ESPANOLA, N.M. - Northern New Mexico College women's basketball student-athlete Mistidawn Roybal has been selected to the NAIA's Association of Student-Athletes (ASA), representing both NNMC and the California Pacific Conference.

"I have always wanted to have my voice heard, and I feel truly blessed that God has given me this opportunity to serve as a voice for Northern New Mexico College and the Cal Pac," Roybal said. "Through this platform, I hope to shine a light on our community and state while raising awareness of the needs and struggles student-athletes face."

The ASA brings together student-athletes from schools and conferences across the NAIA to share student perspectives on leadership, well-being, and the college athletics experience. The group works closely with the NAIA's Council for Student-Athletes, which includes student-athletes, administrators, and coaches working to improve student-athlete health, safety, and overall experience.

Mistidawn's selection gives Northern New Mexico College and the Cal Pac Conference a voice in conversations that help shape the future of NAIA athletics.
